Offer of skilled employment in New Zealand or current employment in New Zealand for less than 12 months: 50 Points


Bonus points for employment or offer of employment

In an identified future growth area: 10 Points

In an area of absolute skills shortage: 10 Points

In a region outside Auckland: 30 Points

Partner employment or offer of employment: 20 Points


Relevant work experience

Two years: 10 Points

Four years: 15 Points

Six years: 20 Points

Eight years: 25 Points

Ten years: 30 Points


Additional bonus points if work experience in New Zealand

One year: 5 Points

Two years: 10 Points

Three years or more: 15 Points


Additional bonus points for work experience in an identified future growth area

Two to five years: 10 Points

Six years or more: 15 Points


Additional bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage

Two to five years: 10 Points

Six years or more: 15 Points


Points for recognised qualification

Level four to six on the NZQF (e.g trade qualification, diploma): 40 Points

Level seven or eight on the NZQF (e.g bachelor degree, bachelor degree with Honours): 50 Points

Level nine or ten on the NZQF (e.g Masters degree, Doctorate): 60 Points


Bonus points for qualifications

Two years of full-time study in New Zealand completing a recognised bachelor degree (level seven on the NZQF) New Zealand qualification: 10 Points

One year of full-time study in New Zealand completing a recognised post-graduate New Zealand qualification (levels eight, nine, or ten on the NZQF): 10 Points

Two years of full-time study in New Zealand completing a recognised post-graduate New Zealand qualification (level nine or ten on the NZQF): 15 Points

Qualification in an identified future growth area: 10 Points

Qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage: 10 Points

Partner qualifications:

 – recognized level four to six qualification: 10 Points

 – recognized level seven or greater qualification: 20 Points


Bonus points for family

Close family in New Zealand: 10 Points


Points for age

20 to 29:: 30 Points

30 to 39:: 25 Points

40 to 44:: 20 Points

45 to 49:: 10 Points

50 to 55:: 5 Points

New Visa Programme for Students coming soon - Australia

Australia Government has lately made changes and looking for changes, which will come shortly in Student Visa to Australia. They have lately announced introduction of a simplified international student visa framework (SSVF) to support Australia Education service.

The main changes that will be done shortly will be:
-  Reduction in number of subclass that are under Student Visa for Australia.
-  Want to introduce a simplified single migration risk framework.

The Hon Michael Knight AO lately started to conduct the first strategic review of student visa programme they announced in 2011-2012 which was called as SVP (Streamlined Visa Processing) and now changing to SSVF (Simplified Student Visa Framework) to help and enhance the quality, integrity, and competitiveness of  student programme which is one of the biggest export in the economy of Australia.
